For the second time in as many years, Henry VIII lost his queen and a son. Queen Francesca de' Medici, the most Catholic Queen, has succumbed to the sweating sickness that is sweeping through England. The King fled, fearing death for himself and his daughter from his first marriage to Margaret Shelton. Eventually the Sweating Sickness passed, taking others with it besides royalty. The court has reconvened at Hampton Court in time to welcome the French. After England returned from war victorious, Cardinal Wolsey suggested a marriage alliance between Princess Mary and Francois de Valois, heir to the French throne. Francois has come with his sister and other friends and advisers to meet the English Princess and talk with Henry VIII about a possible match. Meanwhile, women of Henry VIII's court have been reading banned books that smack of heresy. There are murmurs of other ladies undertaking artistic endeavors that began during the Sweat, and there are courtiers who would gladly stick a knife between the ribs of others to settle old scores and blood feuds. The court of Henry VIII is an exceptional place. Do you have what it takes to survive? Home | Rules | Canons | Application | Character Requests
